Apple’s iPhones have become more generous when it comes to storage in the past few iterations, but they still lag behind top Android phones, many of whom offer 1TB as their top storage tier.
According to a report by Wedbush analysts (via 9to5Mac), based on information from Apple’s supply chain, the next iPhone (likely called the iPhone 13) will come with a 1TB storage option.
The only iOS device that currently comes with 1TB of storage is the iPad Pro.
This might make the iPhone 13 pro be for only professionals, an ordinary user might not see the need for a 1TB phone, when they have a 512GB iPhone 12 pro max, making this choice strictly for the video editors, or YouTubers with a lot of high res video to work with.
If the iPhone 13 release date follows Apple’s pattern for previous launches, we could see this device hit shelves on the fourth Friday of September 2021. That would be September 24.
Despite the coronavirus-related delays that faced the iPhone 12, pushing its launch to October 13, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone 13 should return to a normal release schedule in 2021.
