Xbox adds 20 Bethesda games to the Game Pass

As of this week, Microsoft officially owns the whole ZeniMax family. Bethesda sits at the head of that table, but the group also includes id Software, MachineGames, Arkane, Tango Gameworks, and ZeniMax Online Studios. That’s a huge library of games, and Microsoft isn’t wasting time in putting them to use: 13 of the best games Bethesda has published are being added to Xbox Game Pass for PC this week.

If you don’t already know, Xbox Game Pass for PC is a $10/month subscription that lets you download and play anything you want from a library of over 100 games.

Here’s the list of Bethesda games coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC this week:

  • Dishonored
  • Doom (1993)
  • Doom 64
  • Doom Eternal
  • Doom 2
  • Doom 3
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76
  • Dishonored 2
  • Prey
  • The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind
  • The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
  • The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition
  • The Evil Within
  • The Elder Scrolls Online
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
  • Rage 2
  • Fallout New Vegas
  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Xbox head also had some few things to say about the games that were being added to the service :

“Obviously I can’t sit here and say every Bethesda game is exclusive,” Spencer said. “Because we know that’s not true. There’s contractual obligations that we’re going to see through, as we always do in every one of these instances. We have games that exist on other platforms, and we’re going to go support those games on the platforms they’re on. There’s communities of players, we love those communities and we’ll continue to invest in them. And even in the future, there may be things that have contractual things or legacy on different platforms that we’ll go do.

“But, if you’re an Xbox customer the thing I want you to know is that this is about delivering great exclusive games for you that ship on platforms where Game Pass exists. That’s our goal, that’s why we’re doing this, that’s the root of this partnership that we’re building and the creative capability we’ll be able to bring to market for Xbox customers is going to be the best it’s ever been for Xbox after we’re done here.”

Another minor detail is that New Vegas, Morrowind, and Oblivion won’t be available on mobile devices, which is to say, they’re not available to play with Microsoft’s cloud streaming beta on Android devices. The other games are, but only if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which gives you access to the Game Pass PC and console libraries, plus Xbox Live Gold and an EA Play membership.
